Julie Tait is a Teacher of the Deaf, Auslan interpreter and Deafblind consultant with almost four decades of experience working alongside Deaf children, families, schools and communities.

Originally a Sydney girl, Julie is now well established in Brisbane, where Focus Matters has grown from decades of professional practice, community connection and a continuing commitment to communication access.

Focus Matters provides a professional home for Julie’s consultancy, interpreting, educational and project-based work, including collaborative initiatives that connect learning, culture and communication across communities. Photography remains a personal hobby Julie enjoys, especially when noticing place, detail and connection while travelling.
